I know everyone has heard about this type of relationship and a whole lot of you have tried it out. But, for all of you who do not know let me explain. The term friends with benefits is used to describe good friends who have sex together but they do not have any form of commitment.
I know for a lot of men and women say that this relationship sounds heaven sent...no ties, no connection just straight up sex and then you are friends again. It may sound all bright and beautiful but, if you are looking for something more DO NOT enter into this type of relationship. Few of these actually turn into an exclusive relationship and I mean in the mind of most persons why should it.
They get to have sex with you and then they can still be sleeping with who ever else they want without the commitment. Eventually this can end up destroying you emotionally as it is highly likely that you are going to grow to like this person and the other party may not be having the same feelings. And you know all hell is going to break loose if you in love this guy and he starts a relationship with someone else and you are out in the cold. I have seen the remnants of these type of relationships and almost always it ends with some emotional hurt whether people like to admit it or not.
So what I would like to say is only do it if you know you are ready and capable. Do not, I repeat do not enter in this type or relationship in hopes that he will commit because for the most part it is highly unlikely. Respect yourself and only do it because you want to never let anyone force you into anything. Finally, if you are underage or no where near ready for sex leave it alone is can have serious consequences. It may seem glamorous on tv or in movies but trust me always think twice, sex can change things.
