The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! -Lisa Hanna

I'm Back!
I just had to share this video. For some reason everyone has been doing this ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. I don't even know how this started but, when one of fav persons did it I just had to share.

She is the Minister of Youth and Culture for Jamaica, former Miss Jamaica World and Miss World winner.

But, one thing that we need to remember if that this challenge is about donating. Giving to charities and educating others on persons suffering from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). I pray that when people do this challenge they will actually donate to the cause.

Educate yourselves on the topic and enjoy!

Maybe one day I will try it :)

Update: Radio Interview, OOTD and life journey!

Life Journey

For the past month I have been through I slight rough patch. Do you guys know that moment where it feels like nothing is falling into place?
Trust me, it has had me down under for a while. But what keeps me going is the idea of thinking positively. I know this is easier said than done, but at least try it once in a while. Don't keep living the life of sadness. Depression is not easy to get out of. All I can say is always look for the silver lining and think positively.

Radio Interview
Last week I got the opportunity to do an interview. I was super excited because it would be the first time I would be on the radio. But it all took a turn for the worst when in the middle of the interview I made a slight grammatical error. I know I know for some it may have not been a big thing. But for me I felt like I had sunk to the bottom of the ocean. To this day I am still wondering if anyone heard it. *laugh*

OOTD
I made a hand sewn dress!

I finally decided to try it and it came out pretty good. It took me an entire day! It's a pretty simple design but, I am happy with the result.

Congrats to my lovely friend Miss Veronica McMaster, who is Miss Global Jamaica this year!

Life never fails to be interesting!

CELEBRITY DRAMA A.K.A MIXUP!

Like seriously  everybody, I have been scrolling on social media and there have just been some stories that I have seen that I just had to comment on. I mean this week has just been drama filled. It is worse than an episode of bad girls club.

1. Have you seen that picture that 13 year old willow posted with that 20 year old guy? I am sure you did. Guess what child protective services are investigating her parents! I am guessing they are just ensuring that Will and Jada Smith are good parents.

Well guys I don't know about you, but if I took a picture like that when I was 13 in Jamaica my parents would never be comfortable with it. This picture is highly suggestive. I think for 13 that child is under no control...I thought she was older than I am. *laughs*

'Probe': Will Smith and Wife Jada Pinkett Smith are reported to be under investigation by child services over this snap of their daughter Willow, 13, lying on a bed with Moises Arias, 20, which was posted to social media

2. Ray J gives Kim-K the best wedding gift ever.

There is never a dull moment with Ray-J around...that is for sure. Well I am sure you know Kim-K is getting married soon. Being the nice person Ray J is he decides to give her a wedding gift.
Knowing Ray J it is no ordinary gift. Turns out he gives her a cheque for $47K from the proceeds from their sex tape.
Talk about trying to rain on her parade!
Is Ray J trying to rain on her parade and gain even more popularity? I think so and it is working.

3. Rob Kardashian's weight gain.
This isn't a shocker to me but hey people are excited.
So Rob gained more weight...I do not know why it is such a big deal. I mean people are being catty and just downright rude and I do not get why. Some of these people criticizing do not even have a leg to stand on because they are bigger than he is.
All I am saying is that stop being mean. You do not know what he is going through. Before you talk try to walk a mile in another persons shoes.
One thing I am glad for is that his sister Khloe came to his defense. She did not just leave her brother out in the cold.

'I'm aware that I'm fat': Rob Kardashian hit back at people for making fun of his weight gain in a scolding Twitter tirade on Tuesday; he was pictured at LAX on Sunday while heading to Paris for sister Kim's wedding

4. Readers I am going to end on the happiest note ever! Ciara finally had her baby!

I am so happy for her. She made pregnancy look so easy. She looked fab in every picture.
Congrats to Ciara and her fiance Future.

I hope you guys enjoyed it!

GIRL GET THAT COIN!

Hey everybody! I hope all is well.
I have not done a blog post in so long, if feels foreign again. *laughs*
So, one day I was on the internet watching a little snippet from the Wendy Williams Show, which I love so much and I saw a story about Paris Hilton.
Remember her, the blonde American with the sex tape and always embarrassing herself...yup that is the one. Well it turns she is actually smarter than most thought. She is actually a great business woman which I am actually proud to hear.

I guess it may be in her genes. She came from good money, but still managed to make a good name for herself and not live off of her family.
She literally has an empire going on. She has many fragrances plus Paris stores all over the world which not only stock her fragrances, but all her other products then on top of that I think she is going to the hotel business. This is surely an example to people to never take the party girl lightly! Can you imagine her net worth is $100 million dollars!

For me I think she just used that wild persona to get her name out there and maker herself known to the world. Her strategy worked really well!

The sad part about this is that I know some girls will hear of her story now and are probably going to try it. Hopefully they do not end up broke and ratched acting. But most men never usually put the ring on that girl always drunk and just making a fool of themselves. What kind of mom would that be.

I know this idea is slightly random, but Paris' story minded me of some of those gold diggers. I am definitely not saying Paris is a gold digger. But I have seen some of these gold diggers in present times who will take suck a man dry. They open many successful businesses, invest and become millionaires themselves. Trust me never underestimate anybody the women of present times are out to get their coins!

I hope you guys liked the blog post!

I LUH YA PAPI!

Loves I have missed you guys :)

Let me get started with this post by saying I never knew Jennifer Lopez still made music videos or just music in general. Anyway I saw it a new video from her and out of curiosity I decided to watch it.
For me this story line was a little too youthful for her age, I mean isn't she like in her 40's. The song was not really that appealing to me, but maybe that is because of the fact that I am overly critical when it comes to music.
But on a lighter note her body looks great for her age and French Montana killed his verse in the song. For me Montana pretty much brought back the song from never never land in my head, plus the video was high quality.
This song eventually grew on me though.

But don't take my word for it...check it out for yourself.

REGGAE MONTH AND RASTAFARIANISM!

February is officially reggae month and black history month! But instead of talking about Bob Marley, who by the way is not the only contributor to Jamaica's music industry I am going to talk about the contribution of the Rastafarian movement to Jamaican music. The number one thing I cannot stand is when people like to make it seem like Bob created reggae all on his own! I am not saying he did not help reggae, but God knows give someone else some credit. Sorry I went off on a tangent as usual...time to actually talk about music.

Reggae started as the music for the oppressed and was most popular at that time in the slums of Jamaica, so also was Rastafarianism. Rastas were quite musical people and also were very in touch with their religious views and beliefs. Rastafarians have been credited for bringing reggae and dancehall to the forefront of Jamaican culture and also to the rest of the world. They sang mainly of equality, harsh living conditions and their beliefs which mainly spoke of connecting with African roots.
Reggae was the main medium used to spread their religious views.

But this type of music and belief spread by Rastas were not readily accepted in Jamaica.
They were abused, rejected and oppressed but they never gave up and for that I applaud them.
They were beaten because of the thought of them being barbaric and criminal, mainly because they smoked marijuana and their views were quite far from that of society. Can you imagine being victimized for being different?

Rastas still play a major part in Jamaican musical forms today. If you have ever seen any reggae acts you can know that the Rastafarian religion and the members fight with oppression played a major part in their music, even as if relates to their appearance.
But sadly you still see some trying to take on the Rastafarian religion as a money making tool. Many of them you will see in dreadlocks are not even dedicated to the Rastafarian religion.

It is so weird to see how things change first they were oppressed now it is like they are being accepted more than ever before.

Rastafarian documentary if you want to learn something more.

On a lighter note, the number one thing I love the most is a well dressed Rasta man.*heart flutters*
I'm just going to get random her and show you some men who totally embrace the Rastafarian religion, some you may know others you may not.

-Junior "Gong" Marley

Jamaican artist Chronixx accompanied by others.

- Sizzla Kalonji (Jamaican Artist)

-Jamaican Artist Richie Spice

- Buju Banton

The pictures can go on and on but guys get educated on reggae music, trust me you will find the information quite entertaining.

FASHIONISTA IN THE STREET BUT A TITAN IN THE BOARDROOM!

I cannot stress this topic enough. It is very important to look great when doing whatever you're doing but, if the only thing you have going for you is your looks you may have a major problem. Don't just be one of that girls waiting for someone to buy her those clothes and to "maintain" her lifestyle. It is always great to have someone to take care of you but, always make sure that you can take care of yourself if he leaves.

The number one stereotype I cannot stand held by many business persons is that once a woman is beautiful and well dressed she will not be a good business woman. People generally just think that once you look that great, you should just be some trophy wife who has no place thinking about business. This being said, women you have to work harder to be respected, some of you need to stop acting like you are brain dead! Act like you have some common sense in a boardroom, always be prepared and for God sakes don't sleep your way to the top...unless the boss is you husband *laughs*

ACT RESPECTABLE AND PEOPLE WILL RESPECT YOU
